Happy New Years! Best of the Week Photo Contest

Hope you all are enjoying the Holidays! I can't wait for New Years because I will be heading to Savannah to photograph Tanner and Margaret's wedding! I've gotten to be around so many amazing couples this month, from all over the country. December has been a busy one for travel, and I was actually one of those stuck in an airport over the weekend! It threw off my week a little, but I am finally back on track. Joy!

Check out the images from this week, we had a lot of fun despite the cold. The great thing about the cold weather is that smiles tend to freeze on :)

Remember to vote for your favorite image!

Montaluce Wedding Photography | Tracy and Jimmy

Congratulations Jimmy and Tracy! Absolutely love this couple. The venue, Montaluce winery, was spectacular, overlooking the blue ridge mountains.
Click here to see the slideshow of Jimmy and Tracy's wedding images

Jimmy and Tracy were married at Montaluce winery in the cask room at sunset. Light poured through the doorway from the mountains onto them as they were married by Jimmy's hometown pastor. The room was decorated with gorgeous purple flowers and candles surrounded the guests.

Tracy and Jimmy's portraits were done in perfect lighting (a photographer's dream). Love was certainly in the air as they enjoyed their first moments as husband and wife. We strolled down to the vineyards to capture some gorgeous images before heading up to their reception.

The reception was held at the restaurant at Montaluce, the room overlooking the winery and the blue ridge mountains. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and horderves as they watched the sun dip behind the mountains.

Tracy and Jimmy's portraits were done in the most gorgeous light. They had such a loving air about them as they enjoyed their first moments as husband and wife. We strolled down to the vineyards to capture some gorgeous images before heading up to their reception.

The reception was a blast, the food at Montaluce is amaaaaaazinggg (thanks for letting us eat:). After dinner, close friends and family gave emotional toasts with a twist of humor, bringing tears to the couple. Jimmy and Tracy changed people's lives. What a special couple!

Mr. and Mrs. Webb and their guests danced the night away as everyone celebrated with them. They really let loose and had a blast, celebrating the start of their new life together.

Grandma was gettin' down wit her bad self.
Enjoy your honeymoon guys. Thanks so much for letting us be a part of your wedding!

Atlanta Engagement Photography | Ian and Fanta

Ian and Fanta met while
attending brother-sister colleges in Atlanta. Everyone who attends the schools dreams of meeting their soul mate at the corresponding school, making Ian and Fanta's love story the kind of fairytale all students hope for. They didn't start dating right away, but had plenty of mutual friends to bring them together. Over time, "something clicked" as they say, and Ian and Fanta have been inseparable ever since.

Ian asked for Fanta's hand in marriage on a trip they were on together; they share a love for traveling, Atlanta nightlife, and the social scene.
I am privileged to be shooting their wedding in June at 200 Peachtree in Downtown Atlanta!
For their engagement session, they wanted to incorporate their favorite pastimes, so we devised a plan to showcase both their love for nightlife, appreciation of the arts, and enjoyment of relaxing around town.
We began the session at Colony Square in Atlanta, and made our way down to the W Hotel Midtown for a shoot in the lobby. The light and the decor made spectacular images. After a quick outfit change we walked to Piedmont Park where they spent a lot of time early on in their relationship. The fall colors were at their peak, and the park was gorgeous!
After a phenomenal morning with Ian and Fanta, my abs were sore from laughing with them. Their love for each other, warmth, and genuine spirit is truly contagious. And aren't they just beautiful together?

Atlanta Engagement and Wedding Photography | Matt and Lauren

The story of these two unfolded pretty unexpectedly. Matt and Lauren's first 'dat'e was seemingly an accident, as Lauren had commissioned Matt to design her business cards and thought it'd be great to discuss the project over dinner one night at Baraonda in Atlanta. The rest, they say, is history.

What started out as a business dinner ended in a date, and thus began their romance. Both Matt and Lauren say their personalities clicked from the beginning and they did not want to be with anyone else. Lauren has waited patiently for Mr. Right to come along, and her efforts paid off as Matt is her first and last relationship. Matt is a bit of a sarcastic spirit and his dry comments leave Lauren in stiches; they never stop laughing when together.
Matt Proposed to Lauren at the High Museum, as a complete surprise to her. He had her family waiting in the Robinson Atrium (no relation to him, but he planned it to signify her new last name!)

We started their engagement session on a chilly Saturday at San Francisco Coffee Company in Virginia Highlands. We were all so happy to be around hot coffee and muffins.

The two spend a lot of time there, and it's one of the places they went on their first 'date'. Matt brought along a vintage type writer that they are also using at their wedding as part of their wedding guest book.

After hanging out at San Francisco Coffee for a little while, we made our way to the High Museum so capture the two in the place where he proposed. The light and the lines inside the High always make me swoon and it really is one of my favorite places to shoot. Matt and Lauren will be married in April, congrats guys! Unfortunately, I will not be shooting their wedding, as they already hired a wedding photographer before the engagement session.

Look at her gorgeous engagement ring!
Best Wishes to Matt and Lauren!
